SOCIETY/ Council Elections 2022 - Call for nominations
Seven Council members are due to retire at the 2022 AGM on 8 June, and nominations are now open for new members.
If you are keen to play an active role in the delivery of the Society's strategy by serving on our Council, please visit our website for further information.

LIBRARY/ E-book of the month
With hundreds of colour photographs, maps, charts and illustrations, The Encyclopedia of Volcanoes provides a comprehensive source of information on the causes of volcanic eruptions, with an emphasis on how volcanoes have influenced and shaped society.

COP26/ Webinar: The Geological Society at COP26 Roundtable
25 November 2021 from 12.00 -13.00 GMT
Six representatives from the Geological Society attended COP26 in Glasgow. In this webinar, the representatives will discuss their experience and interpretations of the event, what we achieved by attending as observers, and what is next for the Earth science community in light of the commitments made.

CHARTERSHIP/ New application guidelines
We have changed our Chartership guidelines to ensure the application process is more accessible. We now only require you to have one Supporter (previously known as Sponsor) if you choose a CGeol or CSci Supporter.
If a Chartered Supporter cannot be identified, please contact the Chartership Office for further advice at [email protected].
